Dear Spring 08

Dear Spring 08 classers.....

Take what you can from this class! It's very informative and helps you gather information that you're going to need after graduation!

Angie loves to have interactive students. So, show that you're interested and that you want to learn how to have successful documents!

The interview is a plus because you get the real experience for a grade!

I loved her class, and if I had to take it again I would. Be prepared to do a little of work for the client, but it's a learning experience.

Good luck!

Jessica

Group work

I really like to work in groups. There are many pros and cons of working together with people, especially with people you don't know. Being an architecture major requires working well with others. Projects will always be divided up into different areas, and people with stronger attributes work on certain areas.

I have appreciated working with my group. We have all put forth an excellent effort to come together and form a great proposal. Fortunately, we all have different talents and have done well together.

Interview

The interview set-up helped me figure out several aspects of the process. I enjoyed getting to play the part and putting together my resume and cover letter. Also, I really liked getting feedback on my resume and cover letter.

The process helped me to better grasp the idea of getting a job in the real world. I also was able to get a feel of how a real interview would work.

Chicago....

This was a first time for me. I have never been to Chicago and didn't really know what to expect. I went to NYC with Architecture last year and was hoping it would be similar to the city because I loved it so much.

However, that was not the case! It reminded me of NYC minus the easiness of the subway system and the cost of everything! I think the convenience of things in NYC made the trip a lot nicer because we were not only able to get around easier, but we could buy things cheaper.

When we were in Chicago, we were able to visit Sears Tower, which was awesome, the IIT Campus, Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple and many other places. If it tells you anything, I took 500 pictures!

I'm going to NYC in 2 weeks, so I hope that I will be able to visit things that I didn't get to visit last year. The marathon is taking place while I will be there, so that should be interesting! I will be sure to post some pictures!

a presentation to remember...

All of the presentations I thought were very cute! It was awesome how everyone had their own ideas, and researched what they could about each.

One of the ones I will remember clearly is the Keg-a-rater one. I thought it was such an off the wall topic. You can definitely tell what was on his mind, or maybe a hobby?

I thought the entire idea of having presentations on what we desired was great. It was a fun way for us to get to know the class and be a little creative.

Whatever

The picture on your blog, Angie, is adorable. I would love a kitten! Especially a kitten with a cool frog hoodie.
